Brinqa Agent 4.x is the agent line for Brinqa Platform 12. For the 3.x agent line used with Brinqa Platform 11, see the v11 release notes.

Version 4.1.6​

  • Fixed an issue where the agent could fill its disk. The agent now reclaims connector storage automatically when disk space runs low, with a configurable cap (storageMaxPercent), and never removes data for syncs that are still running.
  • Stale downloaded connector bundles are now removed at startup and downloaded again on demand.

  • Fixed an issue in multi-instance Brinqa Platform deployments where an agent whose registration was lost appeared offline and its syncs failed with "No session exists for agent". A live agent now re-registers itself on its next heartbeat.

  • Fixed an issue where operations forwarded between Brinqa Platform instances failed with "Forward operation failed: HTTP 400" for connectors with large configurations.
  • Improved the agent's request backoff so that it engages under mixed server responses and cannot be disabled by a misconfigured concurrency limit.

  • Fixed an issue where an agent on a high-latency network connection could flood the server with requests and receive HTTP 429 "reached max connections" responses. The agent now limits concurrent in-flight requests (new maxPendingRequests setting, default 10) and backs off after errors.

  • Operations forwarded between Brinqa Platform instances are now retried on transient network errors and overload responses (HTTP 429 and 503) instead of failing immediately.
  • Added a server setting (maxSuspendedRequests) for the per-agent limit on in-flight requests.
  • Forward failures now report the HTTP status, operation, agent, target, and server response to simplify troubleshooting.

  • Fixed an issue where agent log rotation failed silently and allowed agent.log to grow without limit.
  • The server heartbeat interval is now configurable in multi-instance deployments, which prevents healthy agents from flapping between online and offline.

  • Brinqa Platform can now run multiple server instances behind a load balancer without sticky sessions. Operations for an agent are forwarded automatically to the instance that owns its connection, and instances deregister their agents on shutdown so rolling restarts no longer fail requests.
  • Agent online and offline status is now based on recent heartbeat and transaction activity. This fixes agents that stayed online indefinitely after they stopped responding and healthy agents that briefly flapped offline after a single missed heartbeat.
  • Agents now keep their connection alive with periodic pings (new pingIntervalMs setting, default 10000 ms), improving resilience across idle WAN links, proxies, and web application firewalls.
  • Direct agent connections now use HTTP/2, multiplexing all requests over a single connection. Connections through a proxy continue to use HTTP/1.1.
  • Upgraded the HTTP client library. No agent configuration changes are required when upgrading.
